Madeline + Aaron’s Engagement Session

Sometimes, it just feels like fate when I am taking photos of someone. That’s how it felt with Madeline + Aaron. Madeline had made a post on Facebook in one of the bridal groups in the fall of 2024 that she was looking for a photographer for her wedding. I had commented on the post with a link to my website, but never heard anything from her. This isn’t uncommon— posts like this receive hundreds of comments from other photographers, so I didn’t think anything of it. Fast forward to July of this year, Madeline reached out saying that her wedding photographer had cancelled on her. The photographer had somehow double booked herself (yikes!). Madeline said that she had written my name down as one of their top choices for a wedding photographer after looking through all of the comments on her Facebook post. To know that my name had been living in the back of her head, on some note they had for their wedding planning vision, crazy. Crazy cool. And, even crazier that I still had their wedding date available— a prime mid-June Saturday.

As I spent an hour with the two shooting their engagement photos, it felt even more special to me that they chose me. The entire time I felt myself cheesing behind the camera. It felt so laid back and fun at the same time. Exactly what I dream of when I think of shooting an engagement session. They gave me such kind praises at the end of the session. My pregnancy hormones may have contributed, but man did their words bring tears to my eyes. I left feeling emotional in the best way. I get to be a part of their wedding day!? These two kind, sweet, fun, genuine humans!? This is unreal. Pinch me! I feel so lucky.

For their session, Madeline and Aaron chose two locations right down the street from each other. The first was Aster, the same restaurant that they had their first date at. The second location was Smith’s Flowers, their favorite plant shop. Both locations were super cute and very authentic to the them as a couple. Their happy places!

I love creating genuine connections with couples and being a part of these important moments. Bonus points when couples invite me into their homes, or to their happy places. It’s so special to see you naturally in your happy space, and the photos turn out way better too.

I would love to document you and your partner. Reach out to me!
