Kailyn + Ben’s Engagement Session
Kailyn is a friend from high school and college. She and I both went to Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. She’s followed my photography career from the start and seen the growth along the way. It was so special to me that she asked me to be her wedding photographer during her headshot session. I truly teared up.
Kailyn and Ben will be getting married at Caberfae Peaks in August of 2026. This was the first wedding I booked at Caberfae after I got married there myself. It felt so special to know that I would get to go back to the place I got married and capture another couple’s special day there. Pinch me!
This engagement session was beautiful. We went to Al Sabo Land Preserve in Kalamazoo, MI. Al Sabo is filled with trails for walking, biking, and other recreation. There’s a mixture of forest, meadow, marsh, and streams throughout. We focused on an area with pine trees first, then moved to the meadow for some stunning golden hour photos. I absolutely love how these turned out, and I was so excited by the shots with the big tree in the middle of the field. It was a super hot and humid day but these two crushed it despite the less desirable weather. I love that they brought their dog with them!

Side note- if you plan to bring your dog to your session with you it is necessary to either bring a friend/family member to take care of your dog while we are taking photos that don’t include them. Another option is to add on an assistant (I will bring the assistant!) Inquire for details. Pictured below is Kailyn and Ben’s friend, Keith. Aka the dog handler.
I am looking forward to seeing these two get married next August! And, not to spoil anything, but their dog will be there too :)
