Summer Concert at Camp Blodgett

Shooting this summer concert at Camp Blodgett was a full circle moment for me. When I was younger, my grandparents took me to a couple of the summer concerts on the balcony here. I remember discovering bluegrass music and feeling thrilled at the intimate vibe of the concerts there. Of course, the view of Lake Michigan and the chance to run down the sand dunes to the beach was a huge part of the fun for me as a kid.

A wedding client/couple of mine, Cassie and Pat, will be having their wedding here at Camp Blodgett in September. I decided to reach out to the venue events coordinator and see if there was an opportunity to shoot more events there— it’s just so beautiful and all around good vibes. I was invited to join their list of preferred vendors in exchange for shooting a summer concert there. Sold! A summer night of good music on Lake Michigan? That’s a no brainer.

I have loved each of the evenings that I’ve been able to spend at Camp Blodgett. I’m thrilled to be back there soon for Cassie and Pat’s wedding, and manifesting more events there in the future. This venue certainly has a special place in my heart.
